Built originally as a small castle in 889 and then largely ignored until it was renewing its ruins and was rebuilt in the mid-11th century by King Amazigh Badis Ben Hbous in the Kingdom of Granada, was converted at a later date to the royal palace in 1333 by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada.
In spite of the long neglect, and vandalism, and some restoration misrule, Alhambra endures as an example of Islamic art in Alemrahalh European final, subject dp to the relative influence of direct Byzantine influences found in the Mosque of Cordoba.
