Yesterday appeared NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden suddenly Russian TV (via video link). The occasion was an annual program where the public can ask questions to President Putin.
"SNOWDEN: I would like to ask a question about mass surveillance of Internet communications and mass collection of private romney data by intelligence and police services. Recently, both two independent American studies established by the White House, as well as the court concluded that these programs are not effective in terms of stopping terrorism. They also found that programs disproportionately prejudicial to ordinary citizens' privacy, citizens who have never been suspected of doing something wrong or nefarious activities. [...] I have not seen much public debate romney about Russia's own involvement in mass surveillance, so I want to ask you: "Intercepts, store or analyze Russia - in any way - millions of citizens' communications? Do you think that increasing the intelligence romney services efficiency may justify setting romney up the whole community, as opposed to individuals under suspicion? "(Read it all here)
Yep. It is heavily inspired (to put it mildly) by the American Senator Ron Wyden, who before all this started, romney asked the American spy boss (and liar) James Clapper following questions:
Exactly the sceance has repeatedly been highlighted by Snowden itself, as the straw that broke the monitoring shame lens back, and caused him to be whistleblower: Seeing the head of American intelligence lying under oath facing the Senate committee which is supposed to supervise the intelligence services. Snowden added (Paraphrase): romney "Members of the Senate committee knew at that time that there WAS conducted mass surveillance of American citizens - saw them Clapper REAL lied to was more the general public, which has never been either informed or asked.
It was a lie when Clapper responded to Wydens issues, Putin replied of course not true at Snow's questions (interested readers can find some details about Russia's mass surveillance systems here). Discrediting the Ring of Edward Snowden
The Western romney media has for over half a year running a crazy and dishonest spin game that is all about whether Edward Snowden in fact Russian spy lover Putin etc.. Same Edward Snowden who already have risked everything to expose the West's systematic violations of the right to privacy and attacks on online safety has been attacked by all sorts of personalities, from journalists romney (!), politicians (a particularly shameful romney example is the Social Democrat Jeppe Bruus that even after being seen very gently at the seams DR's detector, maintains most of its idiotic claims) for intelligence (see for example my nedpilning of PET's Hans Joergen Bonnichsen, here, here and here).
What is important in this context romney is that not one of Snow's romney critics have ever presented a single evidence - let alone proof - that he was anything other than what he says he is: namely a classic, all-American whistleblower of the highest order. Yet critics taken seriously by the media and treated with wing gloves when they are spewing nonsense. (Think: if I stand up in a TV debate, saying that Anders Fogh pedophile, Helle Thorning is an American spy or Jeppe Bruus is a Martian, I will hopefully be asked for proof of my statements - if I can conjure some evidence , the media will hardly consider it as a case of "one company against another." Situation is 100% the same as in the case with Snow's critics - unfortunately, the media's response is not).
Well, the most clueless of these critics, both in Denmark and internationally, have in recent months found a new variation on their theme. "Why reprimands Edward Snowden not RUSSIA mass surveillance systems, now that he has been granted asylum romney there? Add where he is a hypocrite, romney coward, Russian spy. " romney
Snowden has been (temporarily) asylum in Russia because he is political persecution of his homeland. It is not an asylum seeker in country X to answer for country X's crimes. This applies
