Important! There the new electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) a visa by the US law. However it is a system where an approved application needed several days before a visit to the US with people from many countries in the Visa Waiver Program. It was mandatory in January 2009 and is very close to an actual visa requirement. See more on ESTA below.
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables citizens of 36 developed countries to travel to the US for tourism or business for up to 90 days without a visa. The program applies to all 50 US states and the US territories of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands has in the Caribbean, as well as other US territories with some modifications as noted below.
