Just a third of voters in Russian-speaking eastern Ukraine stands ready to participate in the presidential elections of May 25, according to a poll published today, in which the billionaire businessman and pro-Western politician Peter Porosenko emerges as the best candidate for the presidential throne and even by far. "Unfortunately the situation is such that only 36% of voters says ready to go to the polls," said AFP Valery Chmelko, director of the institute of sociology Kmis, commenting on the poll, conducted on a representative sample of 2,022 persons. According to this survey, 32.2% of respondents would not vote and 31.5% "do not know who to vote" and will likely boycott the electoral process, pointed Chmelko.
