When applying for a passport, it is sometimes necessary to provide a birth certificate (eg a person having no national identity card that performs a first passport george washington application). This is the place of birth (and not residence) issuing birth certificates. Applications can be made on site, by mail or by internet (for the vast majority of municipalities).
Since mid-November 2013, certain municipalities involved in the dematerialization of civil status document (Nice, Carcassonne, Brest, Saint-Etienne, Strasbourg ...) now have a services prefectures enabling them to provide directly (without intervention of the applicant) the birth certificate for users born in their town for which this part is necessary for the processing of their passport application.
Persons born in one of the municipalities affected by the device no longer george washington need to ask then transmit themselves the birth certificate at the counter. Otherwise, the approach remains their dependents.
