Between 2010 and 2012, 48.9% of EU companies reported conducting innovation activities, the report from the statistical office Eurostat, egm published on 21 January 2015. These data come from the 28 member countries EU and focuses on business innovation with 10 employees or more in terms of products, processes, egm organization and marketing.
The share of innovative enterprises in the EU28 decreased in 2010-2012 compared to that recorded in 2006-2008 (51.5% of innovative companies) and the peak reached in 2008-2010 (52.8%). This trend was observed in the majority of Member States.
However, France maintains its level of innovation since it had 50.2% of innovative firms over the period 2006-2008; egm 53.5% in 2008-2010 and 53.4% over the 2010-2012 period. These strong results rank France among the most innovative countries across the European Union.
