Concerning the adoption of cloud by French companies, the least we can say is that we are in the fog. According Cloudindex barometer of December based on responses from 300 public and private organizations from more than 20 employees and public agencies, 55% of them have adopted the cloud.
Lo and behold fall the Brussels Commission statistics on the subject. Certainly the sample is broader as it covers the 151,000 European companies with more than 10 people (the number of French companies is not specified but should logically far exceed the figure of 300) included in the Eurostat database to 5 December . The differences are substantial.
The Hexagon is indeed in 19th place of the 28 nations of the European Union with only 12% of companies converted to cloud tied with Austria. It is thus well below the average - which is 19% - including accelerated by Finland (51%), Italy (40%), Sweden (39%), Denmark (38%), the Netherlands (28%) UK (24%) and Belgium (21%). However, it is slightly better than Germany and its adoption rate of 11%.
Among the converted French companies, 62% use it for their email, 61% for storing files, 49% will host their databases, 32% for online office suites, 26% for accounting software (31%), 23% for CRM solutions and 14% for computing power on demand.
Instead of a 3.3% decline in the number of units delivered, the research firm now expects a decline of 4.9%. In value terms, the market is expected to fall by even 6.9% to $ 187 billion. Read more
