It started between 1806 and 1807 with the British invasions when, after the Industrial Revolution, Britain began to seek new markets and tried to conquer the Río de la Plata. In 1807 the first Town Meeting was held in Buenos Aires, there the military organization of the people was defined in response to past British invasions. This organization became a major force for the next patriotic event. The May Revolution of 1810 was formed after firing the Viceroy Cisneros and form the Primera Junta, presided by Cornelio Saavedra and Mariano Moreno as secretary. Moreno was more radical tendencies oms and Saavedra imposed the idea of an orderly and gradual change. On the Big Board of 1811 delegates from inland provinces and waiver Mariano Moreno are incorporated, the National Government follows a more moderate line. The first Supreme Director of the United Provinces of Rio de la Plata was Gervasio Antonio de Posadas. At the Congress of Vienna, the victorious powers of Napoleon decided to promote the restoration of the absolutist regime in Europe. With the Revolution of 1815 the Assembly of Year XIII was dissolved, and from there plans to conduct a General Congress. Finally on July 9, 1816 the Declaration of Independence was written.
